The original inspiration for Superior PTAC Service was actually provided by one of our biggest competitors - a national service company that pretends to do everything from janitorial to PTAC cleaning service.  We happened to observe this company cleaning PTACs at a motel.  What we saw was literally a comedy of errors:

To start with, they were doing the work in the parking lot right outside the door of the front office on a folding table (provided by the GM) using a pressure washer with no chemicals. They had already folded over the fins of several units due to the high water pressures they were using.  As if that wasn't enough, they were carrying the units by hand through the halls and up and down stairs (dripping all the way and bouncing off the walls) while a stream of water ran through the parking lot from a poor hose connection on their pressure washer.  An extension cord ran up into the front office to power the equipment.

We had experienced poor PTAC service in the past, and it seemed like the GMs were always frustrated by it, but the sight of these completely untrained and slovenly workers causing such a disruption and doing such a poor job really pushed us over the edge.  In the hospitality industry, GMs already have their hands full with the regular duties of running a site and just don't have the time to babysit untrained and uninterested "PTAC cleaners." They shouldn't have to!   We simply had to do something to solve this problem.
